Australian nature meets science and art

More nature journaling workshops announced for 2024
‘Pay what you can’ option for most!
‘Nature journaling for teachers’ session in Toowoomba
After the enthusiastic response to my workshops so far this year, I am offering a series of similar workshops for the rest of the year. However I have changed the format and pricing after much thought, and feedback from participants.
The fee for all workshops that I organise (except ‘Nature journaling for Teachers’) will be ‘Pay what you can’ by donation. This is because I would like as many people as possible to experience the many benefits of nature journaling, and I am trying to reduce the obstacle of cost where I can.
Brisbane City Council also sponsors some of my nature journaling workshops at Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens and offers these for free to participants. These sell out quick once tickets go on sale, so if you are interested it’s best to follow Brisbane City Council on Eventbrite for notifications of event listings.
I have also changed the format of my 5 hour workshops to 3 hours.
‘Tree hollows are animal homes’

#2 Eucalypt Tall Open Forests, south-eastern Australia
‘Tree hollows are animal homes’ is a series of designs inspired by the relationship between the many Australian animal species that use hollows and the trees that provide them. #1 and #2 designs are available as posters now.
Click here for wholesale prices for educational poster ‘Tree hollows are animal homes #1 and #2’.

‘Possums of Australia’ design collection
Yes I have a possum obsession!
Maybe you do too?
I decided to illustrate all 27 species of possum and glider that live in Australia. I’ve loved these critters for a long time, perhaps because most of them live in forests, and I also love forests.
As a result I now present you with 8 different possum / glider designs.
Organic Cotton Tea towels are available now for 2 of these designs!
On sale now!

A walk in the mountain forests – Pre-orders now open!
A walk in the mountain forests - What is this book? I’m not sure how to describe A walk in the mountain forests. My previous books were relatively easy to pitch: Here’s a book that you colour-in, here’s an introduction to nature journaling, here’s a kid’s...

A drawing is more than a photo
How it all started. I saw a pair of peregrine falcons mating, and was compelled to jot down the sighting in a very simple way. A few weeks ago I started a daily drawing practice. Although I didn't realise it at the time. I just happened upon a pair of peregrine...
A new nature journal for the Taronga Western Plains Zoo!
