Gold Coast Nature Journal Group: Focus on Flowers, Sunday 27th September 2020, Pine Ridge Conservation Park, Hollywell, Qld (also known as Pine Ridge Regional Park). 9 am – 12 pm. All welcome. Gold coin donation to take part.

Come along to this precious remnant of wallum heathland, paperbark swamp and cypress pine forest in the northern Gold Coast. Wildflowers are sure to abound, so this session we’ll be focusing on flowers. Meet at the carpark in the north-west corner of the park, off Oxley Drive (Route 4) at 8.45am for a 9 am start.

BYO nature journaling materials (e.g. notebook, pen, pencils, etc) and chair or rug to sit on, plus drinks and snacks. But also try to pack light as we’ll need to walk 15-20 mins to reach the heathland part of the park. Dress to be outdoors, be sunsmart, and BYO sunscreen and insect repellent. Sturdy shoes are recommended as ants, reptiles and other bities will be active.

Gold Coast Nature Journal Group: Create a Treasure Map in your nature journal. Saturday 31st October 2020, Gold Coast Botanic Gardens, Benowa, 9 am – 12 pm. All welcome. Gold coin donation to take part.

The Gold Coast Botanic Garden is full of treasures, including a wide variety of plants, wetlands, waterbirds and landscaped parklands. So it’s a great place to add some of these elements to your nature journal in the form of a treasure map. Or add any other treasures you might find! Meet outside the information centre at 8.45am for a 9 am start.

BYO nature journaling materials (e.g. notebook, pen, pencils, etc) and chair or rug to sit on, plus drinks and snacks. But also try to pack light as we’ll be wandering from place to place to create our treasure map. Dress to be outdoors, be sunsmart, and BYO sunscreen and insect repellent.

Spring has sprung in the rainforest so there will be plenty of inspiration for journaling. Meet at Groom’s Cottage, Binna Burra, at 8.45am for a 9 am start.

BYO nature journaling materials (e.g. notebook, pen, pencils, etc) and chair or rug to sit on, plus drinks and snacks. But also try to pack light as we may do some wandering from place to place. Dress to be outdoors, be sunsmart, and BYO sunscreen and insect repellent. Sturdy shoes are recommended as ants, reptiles and other bities will be active.

Gold Coast Nature Journal Group: Let’s draw animals! Saturday 5th December 2020, David Fleay Wildlife Park, West Burleigh, Qld. 9 am – 12 pm. All welcome. Gold coin donation to take part, plus entrance fee for David Fleay Wildlife Park.

Have fun getting close to some critters you might only get a fleeting glimpse of in the wild. Learn about our native wildlife and practice drawing live animals. Meet at the entrance of David Fleay Wildlife Park, Corner of West Burleigh Road and Loman Lane in West Burleigh, at 8.45am for a 9 am start.
