This week a buzzing crowd of ecologists will descend on Launceston, Tasmania, for the annual meeting of the Ecological Society of Australia. These meetings always have a great vibe. And how can they not? Terrific things happen when you bring together a vibrant bunch of folks who are all united by their fascination of plants, animals, fungi and how they interact.

I was thrilled to be once again asked by ESA to create a conference bag design – and here it is! Tasmanian-themed, of course. Thank you to everyone who provided suggestions about which species to include. How many can you identify?

If you’re at ESA 19, please note that these conference bags are not given to all registrants, but are optional to buy (from the ESA desk). This is part of ESA’s strategy to reduce waste (because not everyone wants a conference bag) and keep registration costs down.
