New Australian Magpie tea towels, and two new greeting cards

I’m thrilled to announce that the Australian Magpie Organic Cotton Tea Towel is now in stock. It features the ‘Advice from an Australian Magpie’ design (above). Printed in Australia on Australian organic cotton.

Also new in the Paperbark Writer shop is this fun ‘Advice from a magpie: Be silly’ greeting card. Even though magpies can come across as quite serious and dignified birds, they also sometimes roll around on the ground and play-fight with each other. If you’ve seen this, you’ll know how joyful and silly these wonderful birds can be.

When I drew this Northern Bettong for a recent commission, it was practically begging me to appear on a greeting card. Bettongs are small hoppy creatures (macropods, related to kangaroos) that are also important ecosystem engineers. Read more on the back of the card below.

Thanks to Gulf Savannah Natural Resource Management for the commission! This bettong will also appear on a poster that describes the many wonders of its habitat – the Wet Sclerophyll Forests of north Queensland.
